Challenge

Build a new addition to the San Antonio Riverwalk, in the main channel of the San Antonio River connecting the historic Riverwalk Loop, in one week.

Solution

During the one week each year the San Antonio Riverwalk is drained for cleaning, the Coyle team incorporated the use of pre-cast concrete structures to build underwater support structures for the new pedestrian access and landscaping area in the main channel of the San Antonio River.

Services Provided

Coyle Engineering platted the property of the historic Alamo National Bank, surveyed the location of proposed improvements in the bank building and parking garage basements and obtained floodplain development permits for new Riverwalk area and its support structures.
